Currently we are offering COVID-19 Antibody Testing as a blood draw (if the office is currently not too busy) or as a prescription for a patient to take to the lab, once the patient is seen for an office or tele-medicine visit. We receive the results about a week after the specimen is drawn. At that point we will call the patient with the results. Keep in mind that, as of now, there are no official recommendations regarding people who have a positive antibody test. There are reports of patients who have had the disease, getting symptoms again. Therefore, it is important that you continue to follow the rules of public safety, including wearing masks in public, staying home (unless performing an essential function) and social distancing, until officially told otherwise. This is a disease that is still under a great deal of study. As we obtain more information from health officials, we will pass the information on to our patients.
